AKH Designs is an Architecture and Interior Design Studio. The multidisciplinary practice specialises in contemporary and heritage residential architecture and interiors, as well as commercial, hospitality and retail interiors. The outcomes are expressed as a single vision through the holistic process of uniting architecture and interior design. The unified design response also creates analogous and personal spaces for each individual space and client, as they are guided throughout the design process. AKH Designs collaborates with each distinctive client, craftsman, builders and consultants to ensure an all-encompassing sophisticated yet practical design response. The bespoke designs respond to the individual context, while focusing on refined materiality and affordability within residential and commercial projects. The design driven practice is passionate in celebrating timeless architectural spaces whilst creating an experience and bringing it to life through emotion and tactility. AKH Designs services Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Alexandra Greer established AKH Designs, and is a qualified Architect and Interior Designer, having completed her Masters of Architecture at RMIT, she then went on to complete her Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration. Alexandra saw the value in being qualified in both Architecture and Interior Design so she could specialise in creating cohesive design responses, where the threshold between external and internal is removed. Alexandra proudly follows in the footsteps of her great auntie, Renee (Rae) McCormick, who was one of the first female architects to graduate in the early 1920’s, and associated with the Heidelberg School of Art. Alexandra’s passion for architecture also extends to education where she has been privileged to teach sessional architecture classes at RMIT.
Alexandra was also recently shortlisted for the National Dulux Study Tour. A coveted program that inspires and fosters Australia's next generation of emerging architectural talent. 30 young architects Australia wide were selected for their contribution to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement.
